Abstract
An active Anti-Vibration-System (AVS) for full span model testing in the European Transonic Windtunnel (ETW) has been developed in co-operation of ETW and the German company ERAS GmbH. The system operates on the basis of counteracting vibrations at the eigenfrequencies of the model/balance assembly by exploiting the resonance properties of this system.
The paper describes the system and presents first results achieved during commissioning and validation testing.
The system has successfully been used for client tests up to Mach numbers of 0.96 and Reynolds numbers of up to about 40 x 106 .
